BUSHENYI- The Kizinda-Kigoma Town Council Mayor aspirant, Honourable Adam Semugabe has refuted claims that he wants to sell Kizinda Market.
Several people have been moving around the town council saying he has been sent by the district NRM Chairperson Al Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba in a deal to sell their market.
In an interview with this online publication, Semugabe noted that those are false claims that are aiming at tarnishing his name and cutting short his political aspirations.
Semugabe added that in the last elections, the same people were cursing the incumbent district boss, Jaffari Basajjabalaba of the same allegation which never came true.
“These were the same people who in 2016 were against the District Chairman of the same allegation but it’s now five years and we have never heard the plan to sell the market progress,” said Semugabe.
He added: “am a Ugandan who likes development thus no way I can sell the market which is the main source for some people I am aspiring to represent.”
Semugabe who is a member of the general assembly said a good leader should always present his manifesto to voters but not to taint a bad image of his opponents.
Semugabe also handed over a street light to Kihogo trading center in Kizinda-Kigoma Town council in a bid to reduce crime within the area.
Kizinda Town council started operating this year and is yet to receive its first leadership.
