KAMPALA- The Archbishop of the province of the Church of Uganda His Grace Steven Kazimba Mugalu is set to address the media today Monday 21st September 2020 hours after the president announced the government’s decision to reopen places of worship.
In a provincial statement issued by the Church of Uganda head of Communications Sadiki Adams, the Archbishop will address the press at his Namirembe Palace.
According to Adams, His Grace will address among other issues and offer further guidance on the reopening of churches.
“Dear Colleagues, Praise the Lord. Following the Presidential Address and the subsequent reopening of places of Worship, the Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu will address the Province with further guidance on the re-opening of Churches” Statement from Namirembe.
The statement also issued guidelines that must be followed by the journalists who are covering the conference as stated below:
Journalists (media evangelists) coming to cover the Archbishop’s address MUST observe the following during their stay at the palace; Wear a face mask, Sanitize your hands from the Archbishop’s gate and other places where Sanitizers are placed, allow our security team to measure your temperature and observe social distancing when the address begins, Avoid sharing hands and must carry Proper identification.
President Yoweri Museveni last evening, Sunday September 20th 2020 said that the government has accepted to reopen places of worship however stressing that each place of worship shouldn’t exceed 70 people.
